A Safe Space
Many adolescent girls and women live in homes where social norms and patriarchal systems make it hard to feel truly safe. In such spaces, it can be hard to focus on your well-being, learn new skills, spend time with yourself, or study. Sometimes, unsafe or violent situations may also continue.
Safety is more than just a feeling—it’s about having a space where you can truly be yourself.
Humkadam is a welcoming space where you can:
- Take time for yourself, reflect, or just enjoy some quiet moments
- Learn new skills at your own pace
- Understand ways to stay safe and protect yourself
- Read, study, and grow your knowledge
- Find support if you are going through a crisis
The Spirit of This Space
- There’s a place for everyone, with respect and care
- Simple guidelines help everyone feel safe and comfortable
- You decide how long you stay and what you do
- Visitors meet you only if you’re comfortable
- Everyone’s privacy, choices, and comfort are respected
- No one is treated differently based on caste, religion, community, color, identity, or economic status
You are always welcome here. Come as you are.
