Shruti is a counsellor and research associate at the Hamkadam Centre who finds meaning at the crossroads of mental health, community care, and collaborative inquiry. She holds a Master’s in Applied Psychology (Clinical and Counselling Practice) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and a Bachelor's in Psychology from Sir Parashurambhau College, Savitribai Phule Pune Vidyapeeth. She has recently joined Vishakha.

Her intention is to contribute to mental health care that is accessible, responsive, and grounded in everyday realities. Guided by values of empathy, curiosity, and respect for lived experience, she draws from strength-based and trauma-informed perspectives. She hopes to co-create spaces of care that are safe, relational, and rooted in trust.

In research, Shruti is interested in participatory and reflective approaches that centre the voices of those often left at the margins. She sees research as a dialogic process one that values questions, stories, and collective meaning-making.

When she’s not working, Shruti turns to poetry and reflective writing as a way to pause, make sense, and stay connected. Creative expression, for her, is both personal and political; a way to feel, to ask, and to hope.
