Choturam is a deeply committed grassroots worker and community facilitator, with over three decades of experience in education, youth mobilisation, and rural development. His journey began in 1995 with the Lok Jumbish project in the Fagi block of Jaipur district, where he was actively involved in cultural programs, village-level education initiatives, and building awareness about girls’ education. He has completed his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and has been associated with Vishakha since its inception. He is currently working as the field centre lead in Bagru.

A strong believer in the power of learning, Choturam served as a night school teacher (Anudeshak), teaching girls between the ages of 6 to 14 in local communities. His teaching was not just limited to textbooks; it included songs, storytelling, and community-rooted communication practices that made learning joyful and accessible.

Over the years, he has led youth trainings, facilitated group formation, and organized workshops and exposure visits. As a senior facilitator, he has worked extensively across three blocks and more than 20 villages, particularly on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS awareness (including in Hanumangarh), and the strengthening of Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committees. In 2014, Choturam took on a facilitation and supervision role in the Salumbar block, further deepening his engagement with field processes and local governance.

Rooted in the rhythms of rural life, Choturam maintains a strong connection with nature. He enjoys farming, kitchen gardening, and traditional folk art forms such as singing and performing with puppets. His love for the land is reflected in his everyday life; he cultivates land and lives in close harmony with the environment.
