Library facilitation and storytelling with children and adolescents
Rapport building and sustained support to women and girls, Facilitating discussions around SRHR

Sharda has been associated with Vishakha for nearly three years, nurturing the library space as a place of friendship, learning, and open conversation. As a member of the Salahkaar Samooh (girls advisory group), she plays a supportive and steady role in the organisation’s long-term engagement with girls and young women. She holds a bachelor's degree in arts. Over time, she has transitioned through various roles from a girl leader to a community facilitator, reflecting her deep commitment to the work.

Her presence is marked by warmth, gentleness, and attentiveness. She spends time reading stories with girls, encouraging them to read, and gently opening up conversations around topics like menstruation, relationships, and growing up. Through books, storytelling, and one-on-one conversations, she helps in creating an atmosphere where girls feel seen, heard, and accepted.

More than anything, Sharda believes in the power of dosti (friendship) not as a tool, but as a way of being. Her work is not hurried; it is slow, relational, and filled with care. She sees the library not just as a place to read, but as a space where girls build trust, find comfort, and imagine new possibilities.
