Shilpa has been associated with Vishakha since 2014, when the organisation began its work in Salumber. She currently leads the Field Centre in Salumber. With a background in sociology and a deep commitment to social change, she coordinates work on issues related to gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). She holds a master's degree in sociology from Mohanlal Sukhadiya University, Udaipur.
Her role involves mentoring and supporting field workers, strengthening internal communication, and leading capacity-building processes with adolescent girls. She also serves as secretary of the organisation’s IC committee, playing a key role in coordination, planning, and reflection. (strength and sensitivity in the session secretory)
Shilpa brings a research-informed perspective to her work, with an active interest in exploring diverse issues through inquiry and dialogue. Whether it’s field processes, youth engagement, or systems of support, she is deeply invested in understanding and strengthening what lies beneath day-to-day action.
Her approach is rooted in learning, connection, and care. She is passionate about upskilling, remaining curious about new methods and contexts, and exploring ways to stay grounded while growing. Outside work, Shilpa enjoys travelling and connecting with new places and people.
